Karing By Karen Homecare was founded in 2022 by Karen, a home health occupational therapist of 17 years who saw the ongoing desire for clients to age in place in their own homes. Seeing clients progress and become independent again with activities of daily living is always a plus. Sometimes our clients need more help caring for themselves than they anticipated and facing that reality is usually difficult for not only the client but the family. Our family moved to Southwest Florida in 2021, we’re finding that most of our clients don’t have family in the immediate area. I saw the need for more private caregiving services in a gracefully aging booming population of Southwest Florida.

Another service that seems to be in need is having a dependable handyman service. My husband, George, who owned his own general contracting business in the city and suburbs of Philadelphia for 30 years, has obtained a maintenance license that allows him to install grab bars throughout private homes. During your free home assessment, let’s see if you could benefit from permanent grab bars either around your toilet or in your shower. In 2017, George and I earned our certificate for aging-in-place specialist (CAPS). In Pennsylvania, we helped clients by completing home modifications to make everyday activities easier and safer to perform.

Eileen White brings 20+ years’ experience as a med surg nurse, a charge nurse, hospice nurse and presently helps clients privately in their own homes. Eileen is married with 2 children and she has a passion for being an excellent guardian of her chickens. Eileen has a strong faith which shows when she is caring for her patients and everyone loves her spirit and energy. We are blessed to have Eileen on our team! 

Elizabeth Gordon is the engine of our company. She is always looking to help someone! She helps with all things administrative, bookkeeping, and financial. Elizabeth brings 40 years of entrepreneurial background owning rental properties, a racquetball club, and real estate businesses with her husband, Robert.

Robert Gordon is our salesman, and marketer, and is one of the greatest men you will ever meet. He brings 50 years of experience as a real estate broker/owner. Robert and Elizabeth moved to Southwest Florida in September of 2021 and just celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Sylvia Gutierrez is originally from our Nation’s Capital and moved to Naples Florida in 2020. She is a proud girl mom of two and paw grandma of two! She has been in the medical/non-medical/ customer service industry for over 20 years. She loves family time and vacationing! Came on board with Karing by Karen Homecare Agency in February 2023 and is super excited to see a women-owned start-up grow to the fullest!
